MST expands bucket repair operations

Friday, September 7th, 2007

North East plant machine specialists, MST has ramped up its service with the introduction of a dedicated bucket repair and reconditioning division.
MST, a market leader in undercarriage and bespoke attachments and servicing in the excavation industries for more than 35 years, has been reconditioning and repairing buckets for a number of years.
However, the increased industry demand has encouraged MST, based off the A1 in Birtley, to develop a totally dedicated division to cater for those who need quick response and servicing of current stock.
Leading the project for MST is product manager, Mick Fenwick who heads a dedicated six-strong team alongside new recruit in the workshops, repairs centre manager Alan Barnes.
With more than 25 years’ experience within the bucket repair industry, Mick says a number of new introductions to the new service make it one of the most comprehensive in the UK and Ireland.
Mick Fenwick added: “Our experience tells us there are a great number of projects out there that need to update their equipment but, due to time restraints or budget, cannot afford to replace old with new.
“In these situations, we have found buckets reconditioned or repaired offer a quick and cost-effective solution to worn, broken or malfunctioning excavation or clearing tools.”
MST’s service offers a speedy turnaround time with most jobs being completed within 48 hours. Even buckets collected on a Friday could be back on the machine by Monday morning.
The company’s new division also offers a full range of loan buckets that ensures any down time is kept to a minimum while others are repaired. Added to that is MST’s new, free site inspection service and its fully equipped pick up and drop off transportation vehicles available on all jobs.
MST has also tapped into its advantage of having 12 representatives based throughout the UK and Ireland to offer a total bucket management service. It means site managers can focus on the job in hand while MST’s skilled and trained staff can make regular checks and offer periodical reports on the standards of any excavation equipment on site for its entire working life.
Mick added: “Our aim with all these measures is to ensure MST offers the most comprehensive service to anyone who has excavation or bucket attachments at work on their site, no matter how big or small the job or the machine.
“We strongly believe that anything that reduces the threat of downtime and reduces the fear of surprise breakages or unplanned hold-ups is going to be welcomed by the industry.”
The establishment of the new division and additional services, marking a six-figure investment sum, further bolsters MST’s position as one of the leaders in bucket manufacture and service in the UK.
The extension of the repair division complements MST’s long-established undercarriage reconditioning and repair service at their headquarters on the Portobello Industrial Estate in Birtley.
