Active Control Technology signs agreement with Fairmont Supply Company for U.S. sales and distribution of ActiveMine(TM)

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

Active Control Technology Inc. and Fairmont Supply Company announce a sales and distribution agreement for ActiveMine(TM) in the United States.
Fairmont, one of the largest full-line distributors of industrial maintenance, repair and operating supplies in the U.S., has deep roots in the mining industry.
Under the one-year, renewable agreement, ACT has appointed Fairmont as its exclusive distributor for ActiveMine, a two-way voice communications and tracking system that operates on a 100% wireless Wi-Fi network, within Fairmont’s sales territory. The territory comprises leading coal and hard rock mining states including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and Colorado.
Fairmont, which will appoint ACT as its exclusive vendor of mine communications and tracking equipment, will establish additional U.S. distribution arrangements for ActiveMine outside those states.
“Fairmont’s strong and longstanding connections to the mining industry, particularly in the coal mining states, will greatly expand sales opportunities for ActiveMine in the U.S.,” said Steve Barrett, President and CEO, Active Control Technology. “We look forward to working closely with Fairmont to better serve U.S. customers and to our mutual benefit.”
The two companies are moving quickly to leverage the relationship: between Sept. 12 and 14, ACT will share booth space with Fairmont (booths 316-318) at the Bluefield Coal Show in West Virginia. ActiveMine has received regulatory approval from West Virginia to be sold in the state.
“We are extremely excited to be representing ActiveControl and the ActiveMine system,” said Van Compagni, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Fairmont Supply Company. “These cutting edge communications and tracking products will benefit our customers in the mining industry.”
