D Wardle (Plant) Ltd adds Volvo’s flagship excavator to its fleet

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Earthmoving and general plant hire specialists D Wardle (Plant) Ltd of Warrington Lancashire has taken delivery of a Volvo EC700BLC excavator as a prime mover for their larger muck shifting contracts
The new seventy tonne excavator supplied in mass excavation configuration concludes the delivery of a range of Volvo Construction Equipment products ordered by D Wardle this year. This includes eighteen articulated dumptrucks equally split between the A25D, A30D and A40E models and three medium sized loading shovels – all of which are incremental to Wardle’s fleet for 2007.
Whilst the majority of this latest batch of equipment has been acquired for D Wardle’s earthmoving contracts for major blue chip quarrying companies, the two L110E and L180E loading shovels have been purchased for the company’s long-term contract rental fleet. “This is an increasingly significantly part of our fleet, and our continuing relationship with Volvo means we are able to offer a nationwide service – safe in the knowledge that with Volvo’s customer support outlets and our own field service capabilities, we can provide our respective customers with complete peace of mind,” commented Managing Director, Mr Scott Wardle.
Part of D Wardle’s investment in its contract rental division is the recruitment of Doug Lockwood, who has many years service selling Volvo Construction Equipment for Volvo in the north west of England, and brings with him a wealth of experience. The other part of the equation is Wardle’s investment in environmental, quality and health and safety management issues to achieve BVQI and ROSPA accreditation to raise the operating profile of the company.
