Extec Screens and Crushers Ltd will use the Excon 2007 exhibition in Bangalore, India (14 to 18 November 2007) to demonstrate the breadth of its crushing and screening equipment range with a display that includes the S-6 Doublescreen, the X44 SBS cone crusher and C-12+, the world’s best-selling track-mounted mobile jaw crusher.
Visitors to the Excon exhibition in India (14 to 18 November 2007) will be able to view the latest developments from world-leading crushing and screening equipment manufacturer, Extec Screens and Crushers Limited. The company, now part of Sandvik Mining and Construction will be showing representative models from across its comprehensive equipment line-up, including the S-6 Doublescreen, the X44 SBS cone crusher, and the C-12+ track-mounted mobile jaw crusher, the undisputed world-leader in its class.
Doublescreen Performance
The S-6 Doublescreen is a new track-mounted mobile screen that is designed for a broad range of large quarrying, mining and recycling applications and which provides optimum performance in a variety of materials including sand, gravel, coal, limestone, granite, construction and demolition waste, and even topsoil. With a transport weight of 36.6 tonnes, the Extec S-6 is powered by a Deutz BF4M 2012 diesel engine developing 74.9 kW that meets or exceeds all known emissions regulations.
The Extec S-6, which is 17.64 metres in length, utilises two independently-adjustable screen boxes that each measure 3,048 x 1,524 mm to produce an exceptionally large screening area for optimum efficiency.
Driven and angled separately, this unique Extec Doublescreen system allows the first screen box to be used to remove fines in even the most cohesive materials, while the second screen box acts as a materials grader. As a result, the Doublescreen system is able to produce consistently precise material grades.
To supplement the productivity and versatility of the Extec S-6, the unit is offered with a variety of optional extras including a remote control system, shredder box for green waste applications, a vibrating grid, and an Extec-patented, self-loading transport bogey.
Meeting Customer Needs
The all-new Extec X44 SBS cone crusher, making its Excon debut, has been specifically designed to satisfy customer demands and marks a new departure for Extec. Designed for optimum performance in granite, slate, brick, limestone and construction and demolition waste applications, the new unit is built around a world-leading Telesmith 44SBS cone operating at 672 rpm. The track-mounted mobile machine is powered by a Caterpillar C-13 diesel engine developing 328 kW which also powers the cone’s hydraulic drive.
The new unit also benefits from a number of key innovations. The 3 m3 capacity feed hopper is mounted on a hydraulically-controlled slew ring that allows the feed hopper to rotate for easier removal of tramp iron from the feed material. The 46 tonne machine also features hydraulic close side setting adjustment for finite control of product size and shape. The versatility of the Extec X44 SBS cone crusher can be optimised with an optional metal detector located on the feed hopper; and by an optional recirculation screen system.
Low-Maintenance Design
Taking pride of place on the company’s stand is an Extec C-12+, the best-selling track-mounted jaw crusher in the world. Building upon the reputation of the original Extec C-12, the newly-introduced C-12+ is designed specifically for applications in quarries, demolition sites, and recycling facilities.
The Extec C-12+ has a working length of 15.75 metres and an operating weight of 46.38 tonnes. It is powered by a 261 kW Caterpillar C-9 diesel engine that meets all known emissions regulations and which offers excellent fuel economy. The unit’s 1,200 x 750 mm feed opening and high speed crushing capability allow the machine to operate at high throughput levels for optimum productivity and minimal bridging. As a further safeguard, the C-12+ is equipped with an overband magnet that removes tramp iron and reinforcing bar during crushing.
