Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling set to Further Advance the Power Industry
Tuesday, October 16th, 2007
In an effort to assist power plants in their challenge to increase efficiency, Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling Ltd (CBM) have designed and tailored the ‘dense phase’ pneumatic fly ash handling solution.
Clyde Bergemann are aware of the concerns and daily challenges for plant operators, which include keeping costs to a minimum, and trying to be as environmentally aware as possible. These new technologies have been designed and made specially to assist with these challenges.
An example of the outstanding effects of installing CBM technologies is evident at a coal-fired power station in Ireland where Clyde Bergemann ash handling systems were installed on three x 305MW boilers.
It is forecast that the improved efficiency savings will be made in three key areas: spare parts costs (81% saving), labour resources (88% saving) and energy consumption (78% saving).
As well as these remarkable savings there were additional benefits recognised at the power plant, including increased operational availability, reduction in spares inventory and a reduction in management of time and improved environmental performance.
Neil Ford, Sales Director of Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling Ltd commented:
“Here at Clyde Bergemann we pride ourselves on developing and supplying the most superior products that will provide plant operators with the most time efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly systems.
“We are committed to helping develop and advance the industry in anyway we can and dense phase pneumatic conveying solutions are a testament to our commitment. Because of these technologies, the improved environmental performance of the power plants will help provide an overall better environment for us all. I only hope more power plants install these solutions.â€
