Active Control and 3D-P Announce Intent to Collaborate

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona and TORONTO, Ontario – 3D-P, a leading provider of technology products for the mining industry, and Active Control Technology (TSX-V:ACT), producer of ActiveMine™, the premier wireless voice communication and tracking system for mines, are pleased to announce that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Under the MOU, ACT will leverage 3D-P’s Intelligent Endpoint™ product line to extend its product and services offerings. Intelligent Endpoints collect key mine site information such as machine diagnostics and transmits it to a central location, allowing managers to better monitor and oversee operations. For the first time, ActiveMine will make it possible to offer Intelligent Endpoints, which are now widely used in surface mining, to underground mines over a single wireless Wi-Fi network that also provides voice, tracking and other data.
“Underground coal mine operators tell us that the data provided by Intelligent Endpoints will help them improve productivity and reduce costs, further improving the return on investment available with ActiveMine,” said Steve Barrett, President and CEO of Active Control. “3D-P’s vendor-agnostic hardware model is an excellent fit with ActiveMine’s robust, open-standards network.”
The MOU establishes the basis for a commercial relationship that will provide a variety of offerings to mining customers. The parties intend to establish an OEM relationship where ACT would become the exclusive supplier of MSHA-approved 3D-P products targeted to gassy underground mines.
