Iron Ore Company of Canada Further Integrates Modular Products

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Modular Mining Systems, Inc., the world leader in powerful information management systems for maximizing mine productivity, announces that the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC), a Rio Tinto operation in Labrador City, has renewed their commitment to the IntelliMine® suite with an upgrade of their DISPATCH® mine management system and all field equipment at the Carol Lake Mine complex. The ML field hardware replaces RevD/UHF solutions operating on truck, shovel and drill fleets since 1985.
“IOC has been a very loyal and supportive customer of ours for over 20 years and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to continue to add value to the Carol Lake Mine,” said Remi Aguila, Sales Manager, Modular North America. “With the winter months fast approaching, IOC requested an expedited installation and the Modular team accommodated this request. Modular and IOC staff worked together to create a phased and gradual upgrade that minimized impact on production.”
IOC will also be deploying the MineCare® maintenance management system under their
Umbrella Supply Contract with Modular.
