Sandvik Mining and Construction presents innovation in products and services for 2009
Monday, June 8th, 2009
Sandvik Mining and Construction brings to Brazil two new product lines that will amplify it´s added-value solutions portfolio for the construction and mining markets.
One of the novelties is the new QJ 330 model. Integrating the mobile crushing and screening Sandvik equipments line, the machine was developed to operate in the construction, demolition, recycling and mining markets.
QJ 330 brings the most modern technology in mobile crushers. The equipment has a vibrating grid, kick diversion of the lower sieve crusher, jaws crusher, 40 mm apf in recycling applications, apf hydraulic adjustment, hydrostatic command, a large interspace under the equipment and waste extractor in the carrier.
According to Victor Becattini, Sandvik Mining and Construction Sales Manager, the great advantage of the new QJ 330 is that it is mobile equipment, what makes the crushing process much faster and efficient. “With that it is not necessary the setting of a physical structure in the service location. That strongly reduces the operation costs”, explains the manager.
Still according to Victor Becattini, the mobility characteristic, besides the fact of working efficiently with different kinds of materials – limestone, granite, polish and constructions and demolitions residues – makes QJ 330 a strong potential product. “It offers and excellent cost benefit”, he concludes.
Another launch of Sandvik Mining and Construction is the components line for transport belts, applied in solid bulks, a direct result of the new manufacturing facilities of the company located in the city of Vespasiano (MG).
This new line is compounded by the following equipments:
HV 100 Rolls- a complete series of ligh, medium and heavy load transport rolls. The HV line includes a conformed roll, HV150, projected for heavy load transport, which reduces the vibration and noise level, high speed, resulting in a longer roller working life and reduction in the energy spending compared to conventional rolls.
HV300 series Rollers and Bridge – an extended range of rack, which resist to the most demanding and varied conditions of loading and dimensions. It also has special rollers for load and return, in addition to the impact ones, which were designed for the loading points. The structure projects are based in stress analysis.
HP series Drums – used for light, medium and heavy loads transportation, with weight limit till 3.000 kN. Exhaustively tested and with low maintenance, the Sandvik drums are projected to operate under extreme conditions.
HB series Belt Cleaners – The line has cleaners for any application, since the primary and secondary, till belt turners and scrappers.
According to Victor Becattini, the Sandvik load transport components can be used in any place where the handling of materials is required, like in mining (on surface or underground), in quarries, in transport by land, ports and power plants.
“Only in the mining market, Brazil has nowadays around 2 million rolls working on its manufacturing facilities. From this total, at least 10% are replaced yearly, Therefore, this is a very promising market and Sandvik has tools for all needs”, he concludes.
The new Sandvik Mining and Construction products were presented during the M&T Expo 2009, one of the most important events in Latin American construction and mining markets, from June 2 to 6 in São Paulo.
During the event, besides the novelties, the company also put on display other solutions, like the CH 660, a large conical crusher, the CV177 vertical shaft impact crusher, and also the hydraulic hammers.
In addition, the company will be demonstrating it´s After-Sale line and services with samples of abrasion materials for crushers (Manganese), as well as line of drills and stems for rock perforation and reposition parts.
“It is a great event that will congregate all of the players in the construction and mining markets. Sandvik could not be absent, because it will be an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationship with customers and partners, as well as to generate new businesses”, analyses Victor Becattini.
Growth in 2008 and good expectations for 2009
Despite the economical crisis that affected all the economic sectors in Brazil in the last three months in 2008, Sandvik Mining and Construction closed last year with a sales growth of 20% compared to 2007.
According to Victor Becattini, even with the market still being affected by the negative impacts of the crisis, the expectation for Sandvik Mining and Construction businesses for 2009 is very positive. “Some sectors, like construction, for example, still have a good demand. The PAC and World Cup will certainly generate strong investments in Brazil. All this keeps us very optimistic about the future”, he concludes.
