Gloucester Awards $350 Million Duralie Coal Contract

Gloucester Coal has awarded a new contract which allows for the extension of mining at the Duralie site.
The $350 million – seven year mining contract was awarded to the existing contractor, Leighton Mining.
Leighton Mining will conduct planning, surface mining operations, maintenance and site rehabilitation work at the Duralie mine.
Gloucester Coal CEO Mr Barry Tudor said, “Leighton Mining has demonstrated proven performance and an ability to work with us over an extended period. We look forward to their continued contribution to Gloucester’s future”.
“The Duralie mine is an open-cut coal operation producing around 1.8 million tonnes of high quality coking and thermal coal each year. This exciting project continues to underpin Gloucester Coal’s long term mining operations within the Gloucester Basin”, Mr Tudor said.
