Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
Deutz AG is to merge its three current sales regions with its service and back-office salesmanagement functions to form one unit with global responsibility. The new unit will be headed by Robert Mann (53) who will be based in Cologne.
Born in the UK, Mann is a qualified mechanical engineer and has worked for DEUTZ in the US for 16 years. For the past nine years, he has been head of its US subsidiary, DEUTZ Corporation, in Atlanta, where he was responsible for sales in the North, Central and South America region. In his new function he will report directly to Dr Helmut Leube, chairman of the DEUTZ Board of Management.
The head of the Asia region, Alexander Städtler, still reports directly to the chairman of the Board of Management, Dr Helmut Leube. There is a matrix organisation for the coordination of activities with the other sales regions.
Robert Mann’s successor as president of the DEUTZ Corporation will be Christian Krupp, currently its chief financial officer. DEUTZ AG’s previous head of sales for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region was Thorsten van der Tuuk, who left the company at the end of May.
