Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Rockydale Quarries Corporation, headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, announces a management reorganization which will position the company for future growth and expansion, and a continued commitment to community service and environmental stewardship. Rockydale Quarries remains family-owned and has served its region for more than 75 years, providing high quality aggregate, agricultural lime, topsoil, ready-mix concrete, and portable crushing services. The company operates at locations in Roanoke, Rocky Mount, Appomattox, Penhook, Rocky Gap, and Staunton, Virginia. The management reorganization, which is the result of a professional 18-month-long study of the company’s business model and practices, is designed to strengthen and preserve its privately-owned operations for decades to come by bringing onboard the expertise of new officers and additional directors who represent valuable competencies and expertise in all facets of the aggregate industry.
J. Kenneth (Ken) Randolph is named CEO and president. “Our goal is to meet new challenges with teamwork, talent and technologies. As a privately-owned company, we feel that the level of service we provide to customers, and to the community, surpasses what a publicly-owned company can do. We are taking a very insightful and innovative approach to our internal and external growth,” says Randolph, who has a MBA in Business Administration and has worked in all levels of the rock products business since 1979.
Joseph W. Altizer is the new CFO, with experience in both public and private accounting. David D.H. Willis is vice president of operations. Board members include Edgar K. Baker as Chairman; Wade O. Kemp, III; Timothy W. McAvoy; P.K. Rana Medhi; Ben L. Rechter, III; David D.H.Willis; and Ken Randolph.
