Senior Appointment at Turner & Townsend’s North America Mining Team

Turner & Townsend, the global construction consultancy, announces today the appointment of John Gravel as a vice president to the Metals & Mining team in North America.
John joins from Rio Tinto, where he spent 13 years working in a variety of locations in North and South America, primarily focused on procurement, project management, supply chain management, and logistics. Most recently he managed Rio Tinto’s Major Project Procurement team in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he designed and implemented strategies for Rio Tinto Copper Projects including Oyu Tolgoi, Resolution Copper, Diavik Diamond Mines, Keystone, and La Granja, and the future Brownfield and Greenfield projects within the RTCP portfolio.
At Turner & Townsend John’s role will be to develop project services support for mining and metals clients in North America and Canada including project control, cost management, contract services and ongoing consultancy.
Turner & Townsend currently employs 150 people in the USA and Canada and services both major local and global mining houses, as well as junior miners.
