“Mining Package” offers optimum protection for driver and machine

Telescopic, 360 degree rotatable boom provides additional freedom

TML presents the mining vehicle UNIDACHS 740 “Scaler”, which the company has designed with the new “Mining Package” especially for use in mining and tunneling. The telescopic boom of the UNIDACHS, which can be rotated through 360 °, offers high flexibility and a long reach with a low overall height. For example, it enables the safe profiling of even large cross sections.

With the “Mining Package”, the UNIDACHS 740 “Scaler” is adapted to the special conditions underground: In addition to the unique kinematics of the telescopic boom, the package offers comprehensive protection for the operating personnel and the machine.

The cab is equipped with a Falling Objects Protection System (FOPS) for the canopy and bulletproof glass panes; In addition, it is tiltable to the rear, so that the driver has optimal visibility.

The machine itself is also designed for operation in the typical environment of mining and tunneling: for example, TML arranges the hydraulic hoses inside the boom. This ensures that they will not be destroyed if loose rock falls onto the boom while working. This measure not only increases the availability of the machine, it also reduces the risk of hydraulic oil leaking to almost zero. The robust steel housing closes the inside of the machine so that no foreign objects can penetrate.

In addition there are particularly high-intensity xenon worklights, a ramming protection for the superstructure, armored glass in the front area of the canopy, protective covers for the arm guide rollers, baffles in the front area of the main arm, dirt deflectors between the main and the telescopic arm as well as a camera system that looks to the rear and to the side allows.

Volker Bongardt, International Country Manager of TML Technik GmbH, knows the conditions under which his machines work: “We construct very cost-consciously, but we do not save on two aspects: the safety of the driver and the availability of our machine. All superstructures of the machine are made of steel and not of plastic. ”

In mining and tunneling, the UNIDACHS 740 “Scaler” is suitable, among other things, for robbing with a hammer mill, a tusk or a tiller and for broaching with different types of blades, the profiling of tunnel cross sections or the penetration of cross braces. In addition, he can record, for example, drill carriages and tools for setting bows and anchors. TML also offers great versatility with the combination of the 360 ° rotating boom with swash-spray nozzles.

The technology in detail:

TML supplies the machines either with a diesel drive with a power of 180 kW or an electric drive with a power of 132 kW, which among other things reduces the demands on the ventilation.

The 360 ° rotatable telescopic boom covers a vertical working range of + 33 ° and -74 °. With the stroke of the telescopic jib of 4,000 mm and a 2.5 m long attachment tool, the machine achieves a reach of up to 14 m.

The “scaler” has a torque of 32 kN m and a maximum tensile or compressive force of 150 kN.

About TML

Since 1993, TML Technik GmbH has been planning, designing and manufacturing special excavators with telescopic jibs and machinery for the metallurgical industry, mining and tunneling as well as the construction and cement industries. Hundreds of delivered machines, individually tailored to challenging operating conditions, prove themselves day after day under the harshest environmental conditions.

With the guiding idea of “working solutions”, TML develops solutions in close coordination with the customers, which are exactly adapted to special requirement profiles and which work reliably in rough daily operations … always on the basis of proven, robust standard machines, innovative technology and the know-how from more than 55 years.

At the company headquarters in Monheim am Rhein – centrally located between Düsseldorf and Cologne – the company constructs the machines and manufactures them on 22,000 m² in six production halls: “Made in Germany”.

With more than 100 employees as well as subsidiaries and agencies, the company is present worldwide.
