Alcoa of Australia has awarded SRG Global with a $90 million multi-disciplinary asset services contract, after giving the latter a preferred tenderer status in December last year.
Under the contract, SRG will provide services that include heavy mechanical and electrical maintenance, specialist rope access and scaffolding at Alcoa’s Kwinana alumina refinery south of Perth.
The contract runs for a period of five years.
SRG Global managing director David Macgeorge said the company was very pleased to have executed the contract.
“This is a very significant contract award in our asset services division and showcases our ability to deliver multi-disciplinary integrated solutions for Tier 1 customers,” Macgeorge said.
“We look forward to building a long-term partnership with Alcoa to deliver value-engineered maintenance and access services that drives value for (its) operations.”
With site mobilisation at the Kwinana alumina refinery “well advanced”, SRG Global expects to commence work in February.
SRG Global is an engineering-led construction company with three main focus segments, construction, asset services and mining services, providing specialised teams for each area of work.
The Kwinana alumina refinery produces both smelter-grade alumina, which represents 85 per cent of its production, and non-metallurgical alumina (15 per cent) at an annual production capacity of 2.2 million tonnes.
