thyssenkrupp is set to supply an underground gyratory crusher to Newmont for its Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) project in the Northern Territory.

The thyssenkrupp KB 54-67 gyratory crusher marks the 22nd thyssenkrupp gyratory crusher to be sold by the company in Australia, and the first to be purchased by Newmont.

Newmont’s TE2 project is an expansion of the existing Tanami gold mine, and will access ore at depth to increase its production.

thyssenkrupp Australia mining business chief executive officer Johann Rinnhofer said the company was constantly refining its machine development through its research and design process.

“We continue to develop our machines through our continual R&D process and client feedback,” he said.

“This enables us to improve the strength and reliability of our machines which our clients benefit from with machine availability and longevity.”

The gyratory crusher will have 450 kilowatts of power installed, and will feature enhanced serviceability due to its innovative design.

thyssenkrupp said its crushers were designed with an ease of use, through a simple yet cutting-edge design.

The company supplies machinery, systems, equipment and services for operations involving extraction, processing, storage and transportation of raw materials.
