Sandvik will next year launch the Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions business area, which will replace the current Crushing and Screening division.
The company stated that the structural change is to further accelerate its profitable growth in rock processing, based on Crushing and Screening addressing multiple parts of the value chain and facing different competition to its other business areas.
“Sandvik is market leading within rock processing and our Crushing and Screening division is a well performing business with exciting growth opportunities,” Sandvik president and chief executive officer Stefan Widing said.
“The business is today already operating quite independently from the rest of Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, with its own manufacturing, sourcing and aftermarket.
“By establishing Rock Processing Solutions as a business area we will improve transparency and strengthen our growth ambitions within the area.”
Sandvik’s Crushing and Screening business division had SEK 7.4 billion ($1.1 billion) in sales and approximately 2000 employees in 2019.
The company has appointed Sandvik crushing and screening division president Anders Svensson as president of Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions.
Svensson will also join the company’s executive management at the start of next year after joining the company in 2008.
