Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has launched the fourth drill rig under its x-series rotary blasthole line, designed to increase drilling efficiency and productivity.
The Sandvik D50KX drill rig is a compact, mid-class drill that delivers rotary and down-the-hole production blastholes.
Built to support a hole diameter range of 127–229mm, Sandvik D50KX delivers an extended mast single-pass capacity of 11m and a total depth of 20.1m and 24,950kg weight on bit.
To create clear and precise blastholes, Sandvik D50KX is equipped with the company’s high-precision TIM3D GPS navigation package to precisely position the drill within the predefined pattern, thereby increasing productivity.
Digital connectivity is also guaranteed as Sandvik D50KX operators can use Sandvik’s Knowledge Box, a hardware that ensures connectivity to My Sandvik digital solutions such as Productivity and Onsite for equipment maintenance, productivity, utilisation management, and greater decision-making.
Sandvik D50KX’s intelligent system load management helps reduce carbon emissions and extend component life, and its compressor control system matches compressor volume to application, reducing fuel burn and improving hole quality.
“Sandvik D50KX offers digitally driven, enhanced productivity, helping drill-and-blast operators improve productivity and reduce cost via enhanced digital applications,” Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions president of rotary drilling Patrick Murphy said.
“As demand for our rotary blasthole drills continues to grow, this expansion of our x-series range reinforces our customer-centric approach.”
In other Sandvik news, the company has launched its new Sandvik DD312i under its i-series range of development drills. Electric versions of Sandvik’s entire next generation intelligent rotary blasthole drill range are also now available.
