Weir has launched the WARMAN® MCR²® mill circuit pump, the latest evolution in WARMAN® mill circuit pumping technology, developed to help mineral processing operations respond to more complex ores, higher throughput requirements and tougher operating conditions with greater control.
As these pressures intensify, variability in wear, maintenance requirements and asset condition can make operating campaigns harder to plan, increasing uncertainty around production, maintenance and total cost of ownership. Developed in response, the new WARMAN® MCR²® mill circuit pump integrates eight patented technologies across hydraulics, wear management, serviceability and condition monitoring in a single design.
Drawing on Weir’s decades of slurry pumping expertise and insights from the world’s largest installed base of mill circuit pumps, the WARMAN® MCR²® mill duty pump is designed to extend operating campaigns, simplify maintenance and improve visibility of asset condition. The pump retains the footprint of existing WARMAN® mill circuit pumps, helping support higher throughput requirements without major infrastructure changes.

Field trials in high-wear mill circuit applications on three continents have validated the pump’s performance under demanding operating conditions, reinforcing its role in supporting longer, more predictable operating campaigns.
John McNulty, Vice President, Global Engineering and Technology, said: “Mill circuit duties continue to evolve as operators process increasingly challenging ore bodies and look to maximise performance from existing assets. WARMAN MCR² technology applies our expertise in hydraulics, materials science and digital technology to the areas of the pump that most influence wear, performance and ease of service. Together, these advances represent a step-change in WARMAN mill circuit pump design, giving operators greater control over how they manage the asset throughout its operating life.”

NEXT condition and performance monitoring is integrated into the pump, providing operators with continuous visibility into critical health and operating parameters. These insights help identify changes in process behaviour earlier and support more consistent performance throughout the operating campaign.
The pump helps customers manage total cost of ownership through longer wear life, fewer maintenance interruptions, simpler servicing and greater use of existing infrastructure.
Christian Trulsson, Director, Global Product Management, Pumps, said: “WARMAN slurry pumps have set the benchmark in slurry and mill circuit pumping for decades and are trusted by leading miners in some of the industry’s most demanding applications. The WARMAN MCR² mill circuit pump technology represents the next stage in that evolution, shaped by operating experience and the challenges customers face today. It helps customers approach performance, maintenance and asset planning with greater confidence as mill circuit duties become more demanding.”
