The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) is set to launch a series of digital conferences this year, including the uranium, lithium and Minesafe conferences.

The International Uranium Digital Conference is celebrating its 15th year and is the first to be delivered in a digital format, with the event taking place on June 30–July 1 and July 7–9.

The Lithium and Battery Metals Digital Conference takes place in August 18–19 and August 25–26, followed by the Minesafe International Digital Conference on September 22–23.

They will feature live keynote sessions, technical presentations and panel sessions. The new format will provide the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders globally and virtually network with worldwide professionals.

AusIMM is also set to deliver online support for students and young professionals through its New Leaders Online program, which will be held for six weeks in June and July.

Delegates will be able to access presentations and learn and engage with renowned mining leaders.

AusIMM chief executive Stephen Durkin said that the organisation remained committed to ensuring professionals in the resources sector could still easily access the latest online professional development programs.

“As the trusted voice of people working in the resources sector, AusIMM is committed to delivering world class professional development in a way that is accessible to all professionals, particularly during this time. A key part of this is our launch of our new digital conferences,” Durkin said.

“Through our online conferences and events we are able to welcome a diverse and dispersed spectrum of professionals to network and stay up to date with cutting edge research from leaders across the industry.”
