Ukraine accumulates enough gas, coal for heating season

Thursday, July 23rd, 2020

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says the country has accumulated enough coal and gas to ensure a smooth heating season. “Gas stocks totaling 21 billion cubic meters (bcm) in underground storage facilities (USFs) are record-breaking for Ukraine. Coal reserves are also record-high over the recent years. Thermal stations and TPPs are provided with sufficient coal stocks. Therefore, we are set to smoothly pass the heating season,” he said at a government meeting on Wednesday.
