Fortescue Metals Group has awarded a five-year, $150 million contract for maintenance and shutdown services across its rail and port sites in Western Australia to SRG Global.

SRG Global will initially provide rope access and electrical maintenance requirements across Fortescue’s Western Australian assets.

This includes Fortescue’s Christmas Creek, Cloudbreak, Firetail, Kings Valley and Eliwana mines, as well as existing rail and port infrastructure.

Managing director of SRG Global, David Macgeorge said the contact is another step towards delivering long-term growth for the company.

“We are delighted to be selected as a key partner to Fortescue Metals Group and to provide critical maintenance and shutdown services across their Pilbara operations for the next five years,” he said.

“This is another significant step forward in our strategy to build a portfolio of annuity earnings, with quality clients, to deliver long-term sustainable growth.”

The contract is already underway and will continue across the five-year term.

SRG Global is comprised of asset services, mining services and construction business areas.

The company offers drill and blast, geotechnical, industrial and specialist drilling services for mining applications, along with rope access, scaffold and access solutions and mine infrastructure.
