The Copper Mark, the assurance framework to promote responsible practices and demonstrate the copper industry’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, has welcomed Southwire as its newest partner and has grown to add a further two participating sites from Grupo Mexico. With these additions, the Copper Mark now has 33 participating sites. The new sites include:
Mexicana de Cobre S.A. de C.V., Unidad Planta Metalúrgica (Mexico, Grupo Mexico, Mining Division)
Mexicana de Cobre S.A. de C.V, Unidad la Caridad (Mexico, Grupo Mexico, Mining Division)
The addition of these new sites from Grupo Mexico is further evidence of the growing momentum behind the Copper Mark and the increasing commitment of major copper producers to adopting and promoting responsible production practices.
In addition to these new participating sites, Southwire has joined the Copper Mark as a partner organisation. Southwire is one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers and has made a public commitment to the Copper Mark’s vision and objectives of promoting responsible production and sourcing practices.
