The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) has officially launched a two-year major partnership with global leader in equipment for the mining and resources industry, Epiroc.

The key partnership between AusIMM and Epiroc is a collaboration focused on technical conferences, and ongoing support for the Epiroc Scholarship program, which recently reached a 50-year milestone.

Additionally, joining forces to build diversity and inclusion within the sector and championing big picture thought leadership are mutual areas of focus for both organisations.

Epiroc has a tradition of operation dating back to 1873 and has been present in Australia since 1950 providing equipment such as drill rigs, rock excavation and construction equipment for surface and ground applications. Epiroc’s success is underpinned by their expertise in driving sustainable productivity gains in exploration through to management and operations.

AusIMM and Epiroc have had an ongoing history of collaboration and this partnership creates additional opportunities to progress a mutual commitment to industry best practice and innovation in the global resources sector.

As the peak body representing resources professionals, AusIMM chief executive officer Stephen Durkin welcomed the opportunity partner with Epiroc to support knowledge exchange as well as a mutual commitment to innovation and ethical standards.

“Collaborating with leading global organisations like Epiroc enables a co-ordinated approach to advancing initiatives that further support the mining workforce and the broader industry,” he said.

“Through the support of our partnership, AusIMM can continue to build an industry that embraces the diversity and capability of all people working in mining, championing professionals through all stages of their careers.”
