Redcastle Resources has reported outstanding shallow drill results from its flagship Redcastle Gold Project in the north-eastern goldfields of western Australia.

Gold was originally discovered at the Redcastle Mining Centre in 1897, and the company has identified immediate target areas based on its review of historical exploration results, including drilling programs by previous owners.

The company successfully completed a 21-hole program for 1362 metres with numerous shallow high-grade results achieved.

The aim now is to continue the exploration program to extend the strike length of the near-surface known mineralisation, and to complete further reverse circulation drill holes to test the extent of gold deposits at other targets.

In addition, the auger crew will commence systematic sampling of surface stockpiles and dumps that remain on site from the historic intensive shallow mining operations.

The company has developed a two-year exploration budget which is designed to better explore the project than in the past. The aim is the discovery and definition of open pitable gold resources that could lead to a development opportunity.
