Bedeschi’s automation installed at Takoradi Port in Ghana has helped the MV Baby Hercules load a record shipment of 106,530 tonnes of bauxite.

Bedeschi supplied the conveyor lines to the terminal, along with two shiploaders and one eco-hopper.

The automation installed helped the MV Baby Hercules to load the record shipment across five days. Prior to the installation, this would have taken 12–15 days to complete.

“Bedeschi is proud of the results of the machines and to have helped boost the capacity of the terminal,” the company said in a statement.

The record shipment comes less than a month after Bedeschi secured a new contract in Turkey to aid in the expansion of the Yesilovacik Terminal.

Under the contract, Bedeschi will supply four pipe conveyors and one shiploader to the project.

The shiploader SHL 26/1400 will handle cement and clinker at a capacity of 1350 tonnes per hour (t/h), while the four lines of pipe conveyors will have a total length of 1km and a 1000t/h capacity for cement and 1350t/h for clinker.
