Gold miner Kingsgate Consolidated has announced its first gold pour at the newly refurbished Plant #1 at the Chatree mine, in Thailand.

The company reported on Friday that the first four doré bars were successfully poured, with both the elution circuit and the refurbished gold room operating smoothly.

This development is part of Kingsgate’s broader strategy to increase throughput and complete the commissioning phases of Plant #1 as swiftly as possible.

“We are delighted to acknowledge this important milestone as we continue to ramp up operations at Chatree with gold and silver now being produced through two processing plants,” said MD and CEO Jamie Gibson.

The company’s focus remains on optimising operations to maximize output and efficiency at the Chatree mine.

Processing operations recommenced at Chatree in March last year after a six-year closure. The company initiated its Plant #1 overhaul project with a goal of returning to the previous steady-state production level of 100 000 oz/y to 120 000 oz/y of gold.
