Almonty Industries has authorised a substantial new share repurchase programme worth up to $300‑million, allowing the company to buy back as many as 14.4‑million common shares—around 5% of its outstanding stock as of 14 August—over the next 36 months. Purchases will be made on the open market through Nasdaq or alternative trading systems at prevailing prices.

The board’s decision reflects its view that Almonty’s current market valuation does not adequately capture the scale or strategic importance of its assets. CEO, president and chairperson Lewis Black said the company controls one of the largest and highest‑grade tungsten deposits outside China at a moment when Western governments and defence manufacturers are actively rebuilding critical mineral supply chains around non‑Chinese sources.

With the Sangdong project progressing toward full capacity, Black argued that Almonty’s own shares represent one of the most compelling investments available to the company at present. Repurchasing stock, he said, is a direct way to enhance value for long‑term shareholders who remain invested alongside management.
