Liebherr’s latest compact wheeled excavators have taken out one of the world’s top design honours, with the A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact Litronic receiving the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award in the Product Design 2026 category.
The accolade is the highest distinction awarded as part of the internationally recognised Red Dot Award program and recognises visionary and exceptionally outstanding product design.
The A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact Litronic models were unveiled to the public for the first time last year as part of Liebherr’s expanding wheeled excavator portfolio.
According to Liebherr, the machines have been designed to combine compact dimensions with high performance and user-focused functionality, helping to set new standards in the compact wheeled excavator segment.
The Red Dot Award is regarded as one of the world’s leading design competitions, recognising innovation and excellence across a wide range of industries and product categories.
